MY APPROACH
CANDID. UNFORCED. AUTHENTIC.
My approach to wedding photography is rooted in authenticity. I believe the most meaningful photographs come from real moments rather than posed ones, so I take a relaxed, documentary-style approach that allows your day to unfold naturally. By blending into the background, I capture genuine emotions, heartfelt connections, and all the little moments that make your wedding uniquely yours.
For me, wedding photography is about more than creating beautiful images—it's about preserving the atmosphere, emotion, and story of your day. From quiet glances and happy tears to joyful celebrations and everything in between, I document the moments you experience as well as the ones you may have missed. The result is a timeless collection of natural, candid photographs that lets you relive your wedding day exactly as it felt for years to come.
I'M Helen, editorial & documentary WEDDING
PHOTOGRAPHER
I’m Helen Rowe, a Kent wedding and portrait photographer who truly loves being behind the camera. With over 20 years of experience photographing Kent weddings, my approach is rooted in capturing real moments, genuine emotion, and the candid interactions that make your day unforgettable.
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling through photography. Originally studying editorial photography, it was there that my photojournalistic style was born. I quickly discovered that what I loved most was photographing people and capturing their unique personalities.
I then spent 15 years working in a family photography studio, where I developed a natural, unobtrusive approach to documenting weddings. My goal is always to capture genuine moments as they unfold, creating authentic, timeless images that tell the real story of your day.
When I’m not photographing weddings, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, going for long runs, or unwinding with a binge of trashy TV.
QUICK FACTS
The Random Stuff
A few things you probably don't need to know about me... but I'm going to tell you anyway!
I started my photography career in 2004, working for a family portrait studio called Venture.
I own 14 cameras... although only about five of them actually work!
I'm mum to two very sassy girls, Amber & Ellie.
I cry at most weddings (usually during the ceremony... I just hide behind my camera!).
I lived in America for over six years, and it will always have a piece of my heart.
I photographed my very first wedding at 17... over 30 years ago!
I love smashing a HIIT class—the sweatier, the better.
I run 10K every week (to balance out my sweet tooth!).
A Few More Things...
Favourite part of a wedding day? It's a tie between the morning prep, with all the excitement and anticipation, and the dance floor when everyone's had a couple of drinks and the real fun begins.
I have the biggest sweet tooth. If I could, I'd order three desserts instead of a starter and main... and yes, I'll definitely be eyeing up your dessert table!
The Office, Below Deck and Race Across the World are my favourite shows to have on while I'm editing.
I'd much rather stay in with Netflix than head to a bar... I'm usually asleep by 10pm!
I'm a huge dog person. If your dog is part of your wedding day, we're already going to get along.

My Values
My aim is simple: to capture natural, honest photographs that are full of emotion, laughter, happy tears and all the moments in between. Your only job is to soak up every second of your wedding day while I quietly document the story as it naturally unfolds.
My photography journey began in 2004 at Venture Photography, where I discovered my love of photographing people and the stories they tell. In 2008, I moved to the United States to manage one of their studios in Connecticut. Over the next six years, I worked across Connecticut, New Jersey, Minneapolis and Orlando, photographing hundreds of families and couples while also training photographers in the art of portrait photography.
Returning to the UK in 2014, I fulfilled a long-held dream of opening my own photography studio in Kent. Since then, I've had the privilege of photographing weddings across Kent, London and throughout the UK, and I've been lucky enough to travel abroad to document destination weddings too.
Although my work has received awards and been exhibited internationally, the greatest reward has always been hearing how much my couples love their photographs. Knowing that I've captured memories they'll treasure for the rest of their lives is what makes this job so special.
I know that not everyone feels comfortable in front of a camera, and that's completely normal. My approach is relaxed, friendly and unobtrusive, helping you feel at ease so you can simply enjoy your day. The result is a collection of genuine, natural photographs that reflect your personalities rather than forced poses.
Every wedding is unique, which is why I take the time to get to know you before your day. From planning timelines to understanding what's most important to you, I'm there to make the photography feel effortless. After the celebrations are over, I carefully hand-edit every image, creating a timeless gallery that tells the complete story of your wedding day.
